The Pre is an amazing phone and we keep discovering stuff about it. One of them is the Landscape email mode which is currently hidden from the eyes of average Pre users. But some of those users are smart enough to discover the unlock key.In case you too want to access your email in landscape mode then you have to enter “RocknRollHax” on the keyboard. You’ll have to enter the unlock code exactly as written here every time you access the email application but at least you’ll have that landscape mode activated every time. You’ll have to keep using the phone at least until Palm will make this feature official.
Analyst Edward Snyder from Research firm Charter Equity Research said in a report Monday that he believes Palm has sold 300,000 Palm Pre smartphones, based on conversations with sources in the handset manufacturing industry. He predicts that Palm is producing 15,000 Pres per day and that it will ship one million devices in the first quarter of production. He also expects Palm to begin expanding webOS to other devices.
While other industry analysts have pegged the number of sold Pre handsets at about 150,000, Snyder has doubled that figure.
For those Palm Pre users who got plenty of PlayStation1 games in their store room, psx4all team from ZodTTD is bringing a PlayStation1 emulator for Palm Pre soon. With a demonstration of Wipeout XL running on Palm Pre, the game is running in portrait mode. Landscape mode is also in progress but even if the emulator are able to run in landscape mode, how could we handle the game buttons with the sliding keyboard?
It’s not the first time you’ll hear us saying that the GSM version of Palm Pre was spotted… somewhere. Well, this will go on until Palm finally decide to release the thing on our side of the Big Pond. But until then, we guess we’ll have to do with spy shots of the sort.
It’s been nearly a month since the CDMA version of Palm Pre headed for the stores for the first time but the question on the GSM version is still open.
Someone in Vietnam however has got their hands on a GSM-enabled Palm Pre and has videotaped and photographed the whole thing.
We just got a couple tips that Palm has released webOS version 1.0.4 as an OTA update for the Palm Pre. This is rumored to address some corporate Exchange issues and hopefully some other bugs. Let us know the results once you upgrade!
