At first glance iPad 2 seems just like an iPad. Of course there is a small chamber just above the screen, but it’s hardly noticed. Unless you take it in the white version, it seems the just as iPad 1. This will definitely generate thoughts that iPad 2 is not anything especially. But as with most products, Apple really should use it to notice the difference.

The big change that is noticeable is the thickness. Reducing the thickness from 13.4 mm to 8.8 mm really felt when holding them. iPad 2 is slightly heavier than the iPad. iPad 2 weighs about 700 or 600 g depending on whether you get a 3G or Wi-Fi version, but the change in thickness creates an illusion that is significantly lighter. Overall, the device is quite flexible design. As you’ve undoubtedly heard by now, the cameras are not great.

Battery life remains excellent. Apple explained that any improvements do not affect the battery running out.

But the biggest changes in hardware are undoubtedly upgrade the CPU and RAM. Apple said that iPad 2 uses its new chips A5, which are dual-core, which means that they are much more powerful than its predecessor – A4. Did not mention anything in terms of RAM, but it seems pretty obvious that is twice as much (512 MB) of the original iPad, which puts him equal with the iPhone 4.

The device works there faster with these improvements? Most memory for some applications is important. The Daily is a good example. It starts and runs much smoother the iPad 2 than the iPad 1. And this is without any optimization on their part. Some games like Infinity Blade also load faster and generally seems to work a little more smoothly. Changing applications is generally faster. And may you have many more open both Safari browsers.

After having more memory available suggest that you will see many uses for games in the spring for the iPad 2 that were not possible before. Apple makes GarageBand and iMovie. iMovie is for iPad 2 (although it is accessible on iPhone 4). And they were great.

Software

Apple presented IOS 4.3. This is the operating system that will be preloaded with the iPad 2. It does something very different from the older version of IOS 4.2.

The most interesting is the new Nitro JavaScript engine. Apple is making huge improvements in speed and the use of JavaScript for web applications such as Facebook. This is definitely a good surprise.

The other big addition is the Airplay improvements and Home Sharing. AirPlay in IOS 4.3 now includes the ability for third-party applications. These applications are not out yet, but soon it will. Home Sharing allows you to play media watch from another machine on your Wi-Fi network. Works well, but I think everyone wants to work over the Internet. Soon it will.

Especially for the iPad 2 has two sets software IOS 4.3: FaceTime and Photo Booth. Both are only for the iPad 2, because they require a camera. Apple says that the 9-photo view to Photo Booth requires graphical power of the chip A5.

FaceTime on the iPad 2 is particularly pleasant because it seems much better suited to almost 10-inch screen than a 3.5-inch on the iPhone.

OS X users will not see Photo Booth immediately. This is more than fun application and displays graphical capabilities of the A5, which only he is capable of.

The real software is iMovie and GarageBand. Both are sold separately for $ 4.99 in the App Store and are well worth it. They are processed to be useful for large multi-touch screen that offers iPad. And it’s amazing how usable they are. If Apple wants to sell many iPad 2, all you have to do is to put them in a prominent place in Apple stores with these two programs installed.

Apple has a number of reasons for putting these two applications. They are great applications that people use with pleasure. They demonstrate that iPad creates and works. And with the new chip and graphics capabilities, iPad 2 can work much more.

IDealsChina Chinese site claims to have several images of the engineering prototype of the Apple iPhone 5, which is expected to be presented sometime in June.

The images show a device with a larger screen, which is extended to the sides of the phone compared to previous models. You will see that the space around the screen is decreased and these details match the presumed front panel of the iPhone 5, which we showed you recently.

Manufacturers sometimes create such engineering prototypes in order accessories for specific device to be ready when they start selling. According to the site iDealsChina, these are prototype images of the iPhone 5 and they will be used by designers to create a plastic, thermoplastic polyurethane, aluminum, silicone and leather cases. Recently, rumors that the iPhone will have five rounded back, but these images show that the iPhone 5 will have the same design as the iPhone 4, only the display will be bigger.

Of course, anyone can create similar images with different programs, so you should accept them with a hint of censure. On the other hand, may well be that these images of the iPhone 5 are true, as has happened with leaked information about previous versions of the model. Tell us what you think about it.

The most common problem with the new tablet is the appearance of yellow spots on the LCD-display of the iPad 2. A similar problem had the iPhone 4, so this is not particularly alarming news. It was found that the phenomenon is due to the adhesive between the display and touch panel, which was not completely evaporated when heated and acted as a glue. Over time the spots disappear by itself. The second defect of the iPad 2 seems more serious – uneven backlighting on the display.

So say journalists iDealsChina, citing reliable sources. Other details are not mentioned, but explicitly says that the iPhone 5 “will support two SIM-cards, allowing to use two phone lines. This sentence can be interpreted in several ways. Such as 9 to 5 Mac suggest that the phrase refers to the maintenance of two mobile networks – GSM and CDMA, the chip provided by Qualcomm Gobi, but consider the existence of Dual-SIM in iPhone 5 for not realistic.

TypeTop Swivel Mini Bluetooth Keyboard for iPhone

The TypeTop Swivel takes the idea of the original TypeTop Keyboard Case (a top seller over the past couple of months) and goes one better, with a unique 360° tilt and swivel motion allowing you to position your phone in the best position for whatever you’re doing.  That means it should be good for hands-free activities such as watching movies or enjoying a spot of FaceTime with your friends, as well as having the obvious bonus of allowing you the option of typing with a physical keyboard.

IT SWIVELS! WHEEEE!

A few things to note about the case:

  • 360° swivel, tilt
  • Available in QWERTY, QWERTZ and AZERTY
  • Wireless connection via Bluetooth – connects automatically
  • Keyboard has built-in battery so it won’t leech power from the iPhone
  • Keyboard can be removed from the case & paired with other gadgets such as computers, laptops, PS3
  • Very thin (only 0.9mm thick) so won’t add much bulk
  • Cut-outs allowing you to access features/ docks

Of course, a lot of iPhone users are perfectly happy with the touchscreen keyboard, but for some the only thing that really cuts it is a physical keyboard.  The TypeTop works as either an iPhone or iPhone 4 case, and is best suited for people who want to type lengthy emails or documents, fat-fingered people like me (!) who don’t get on with on-screen keyboards and people who also want a handy stand for hands-free activities.
