Where can you find a HTC Evo 4G for sale besides Sprint stores? Go online. There are bunch of authorized dealers willing to offer you the new HTC Evo at a very cheap price. And we have a pretty solid tip that the HTC Evo 4G sale price will be lowered than iPhone’s 3GS. How low? I am guessing $150 from Sprint after rebates, so online authorized retailers may offer it at $99 or less. Given all the amazing specs we have seen all over the web, we are very thrilled to see this phone coming this summer. Are you going to get the HTC Evo 4G? Current Palm Pre and Pixi users, will you switch to the first 4G smartphone from Sprint? Stay tuned for more updated info on HTC Evo for sale.

The official HTC Evo 4G release date is summer 2010. Well, to be more accurate, the HTC Evo will be available in June, coincide with the next version of iPhone. I doubt we will see iPhone 4G since AT&T’s LTE network won’t be ready until 2012. And people are more excited to see HTC Evo release than seeing the Palm Pre Plus coming to AT&T (yeah, AT&T announced this news around the same time as Sprint’s HTC Evo 4G press release). According to my previous experience with Sprint, they will probably set the HTC Evo 4G release date on the weekends (usually Saturdays), that gives us 6/5, 6/12, 6/19, and 6/26. And I am sure they will try to be ahead of any new iPhone announcement. My bet will be 6/5. What do you think?

Just heard the news that 39% of Blackberry users are thinking to switch to iPhone 3GS when their contracts are up. I can help but thinking how many are willing to switch from Palm Pre to iPhone 3GS. Sure, the iPhone 3GS is nice, but there are many things that the Pre can do that iPhone can’t – like multitasking. Besides, the unlimited everything plan from Sprint at $69.99 is something unbeatable. It include unlimited web, email, texting, GPS, and Mobile TV. If you have to add all these features up from AT&T, it going to cost you over $100. Oh, sorry, Mobile TV is not available on the iPhone 3G S. Well, one thing we have to admit is that there are so many more apps available for iPhone than any other smartphone in the market today. So, what’s important to you? Are you planning to switch from Palm Pre to iPhone 3GS?

There has been a number or reports or rumors or speculations that Google will eventually scoop up Palm. My take – no way. Why should Google buy Palm or WebOS when they already have the Android that is moving up in total market share especially at the expense of Palm? No offense Palm fans, the WebOS are a great platform in many ways, but just not good enough these days. Palm is a small company that’s still losing money. Is the Google phone making money? Well, I haven’t found any specific number how much revenue the Android phone makes up for Google. Even if the Android phones don’t make money at this point, Google has piles of cash to continue to improve its Mobile business. And Google shouldn’t buy something that was just hype over 1 year ago and have no promise for the future. So, who should buy Palm? BlackBerry, Microsoft, or Apple?

We already told you that AT&T would have Palm Pre in the first half of 2010. Now the official words have come out that Palm Pre Plus and Palm Pixi Plus will be available for AT&T in the coming months. How soon? I would say sometime in May. Pretty much every big carrier in the U.S. has Palm smartphones except T-Mobile (who care? AT&T runs GSM). Both Pre and Pixi will be priced below the iPhone 3GS. With the Pre Plus at $149.99 and Pixi Plus at $49.99 after $100 mail-in rebates. Well, I don’t think the discount is steep enough. Be sure to come back here and check the price update from authorized online retailers. So, who will switch to AT&T?

Traveling to Europe and Asia with your new Palm Pre smartphone? Can you use Palm Pre Abroad? Sorry, although Palm sells the Pre oversea, current Palm Pre owner from Sprint and Verizon Wireless won’t be able to the phone broad due to network incompatibility. Both Palm Pre and Palm Pre Plus run on CDMA networks in the United States while rest of the world (at least most) runs on the popular GSM network. If you still need wireless data connection, the Pre has Wi-Fi. And it’s not difficult to find free Wi-Fi hotpots throughout Europe and Asia. Even if you have to pay for them chances are they are cheaper than an international plan that you will find on some of so-called international smartphones from Verizon and Sprint. Good luck.

Want to maximize battery life for Palm Pre? Many users have complained about the meager battery life of Pre and Pre Plus. So, how to extend Palm Pre battery life? There are many ways to improve the battery life of your Palm Pre and here are some tips.

First, we all know that the Pre can do multitasking, but do you know that sucks up a lot of battery juice? Sure it’s convenient to jump from apps to apps without launching and relaunching, but leaving more than one app open slowly drain out your battery life.

Second, do you know that if you turn on GPS option, your Pre will keep tracking on your current locations – that alone can take up some battery life? Leave it off if you don’t use any location based applications.

Third, it’s a simple one. Don’t turn the screen to its brightest setting, especially when you are in a low lighting environment. The brighter the screen, the more battery life the device needs to use.

OK, one last tip. Don’t turn on Wi-Fi if you don’t plan to do some heavy web surfing. Your Palm Pre will constantly checking for Wi-Fi signals and will ask if you would like to connect. That message alert alone will take up some processor and battery power. So, leave Wi-Fi off so you can maximize Palm Pre battery life.

Do you really want to pay over $550 and buy Palm Pre Plus without contract? What are you planning to do with this no contract Palm Pre Plus? Unlocked it and use it on another carrier? Seriously, if you are planning to stay with Verizon Wireless, why not get a huge discount on the Palm Pre Plus – we are talking about $470 hard-earned cash here. The final price for the Pre Plus will be only $79.99 after instant rebates. Yes, instant. No need to fill out form and drop it in a mailbox. If you are not use this is the perfect phone for you, you can always test drive it for 30 days from Verizon Wireless or Sprint. Same applies to other carriers too. They all offer 30 day free trial. If for any reason you don’t like the phone, you can simply return it without paying the early termination fee. I don’t see any advantage of buying the Palm Pre Plus with no contract. It’s true that you would need to stay with the same carrier for 2 years (unless you opt for paying the ETF), what good is a smartphone without being a fast 3G network. 30 days is good enough to find out if the network is perfect for you.

Palm Pre vs. Samsung Moment, which phone you would buy? Great smartphones at great prices (online ONLY). Although I like the bigger keyboard on the Moment after a bit of hands on comparison, I still prefer the Pre because it runs smoother, especially the web browser (zoom in and out). In addition, the Pre weighs only 4.8 oz compared to 6.2 oz from Moment. Palm Pre or Samsung Moment? I will choose the Pre.

Whether you are looking to switch carriers or upgrade to a new phone, you can count on us to find you the best Palm Pre deals. Right now, you can find the Palm Pre on Sprint for $249.99 before $100 mail-in rebate. And Palm Pre Plus also costs $249.99 before rebates. So, are they really good deals? If you don’t want to submit numerous forms and wait months for rebates. If you ever misplace the receipt, forget it, you won’t be qualified for the rebate. And many people forget to submit the forms in time and they miss the deadline. Too much hassle. You can easily find some great deals online that offer them at steep discount (same exact new phones with warranty). Of course, there are no rebates needed on the best Palm Pre deals. That really saves you a lot of money and time. 2-day shipping is free too. Here is Palm Pre Plus for Verizon Wireless and Palm Pre for Sprint – both on sale for $99 only. Which carrier to choose? It’s really up to you :)

Many of us have been expecting to see a 4G Palm Pre from Sprint this year as WiMax is becoming available in some metro areas in the United States. Is the current Palm Pre 4G ready? Is it capable of running on WiMax. Can a simple software upgrade make the Pre run the new 4G network? Sorr, the answer is No. The early words that I heard when Sprint first launched the Pre – “A new 4G ready Palm Pre would be available in 2010.” Yeah, 2010 is a wide range considered we have 12 months to go through. And I hoping they don’t just release it in December this year just to meet their promise. Of course, Palm might want to play by what kind of iPhone Apple will bring later this year (June I am assuming). Since AT&T doesn’t have the 4G ready, Palm can use the 4G Palm Pre to do some catch up.

Is Palm Pixi touch screen? I got this question occasionally. The answer is yes. Palm Pixi and Palm Pixi Plus are touch screen phones. In fact, all Palm smart phones, including Treo and Centro all have touch screens. Well, the screen on Palm Pixi is small, and no wonder you would ask such question. And because of the screen size – it is the smallest touchscreen smartphone in the market today. It weighs only 3.3 oz and fits into any small pocket.

So how is Palm Pre Plus battery life holding up? The official specs state that Palm Pre Plus can let you talk straight for 5 hours and standby for 12.5 days (300 hours). Not too bad for a smartphone that let you run multiple applications at the same time. But in reality you talk and then surf the web or run some games – you don’t get 5 hours of battery life. We haven’t try to use the Mobile HOTSPOT – I believe that’s going to drain out Pre Plus’ battery life even faster. Like any other smartphone, the battery life on paper is less than accurate compared to actual use. Palm Pre is a multitasking beast. Recharge the battery regularly or carry a second battery. That would be my solution.

Palm Pixi vs. HTC Hero – check out the specs below if you need to compare Palm Pixi and HTC Hero. The Pixi is smaller device with a physical keyboard. Its slim and light form factor allows you to slip it into any pocket. On the other hand, the HTC Hero has a larger screen for better email and web experience. If you want bigger touch screens, go with the Sprint Hero.
