Do you really want to pay over $550 and buy Palm Pre Plus without contract? What are you planning to do with this no contract Palm Pre Plus? Unlocked it and use it on another carrier? Seriously, if you are planning to stay with Verizon Wireless, why not get a huge discount on the Palm Pre Plus – we are talking about $470 hard-earned cash here. The final price for the Pre Plus will be only $79.99 after instant rebates. Yes, instant. No need to fill out form and drop it in a mailbox. If you are not use this is the perfect phone for you, you can always test drive it for 30 days from Verizon Wireless or Sprint. Same applies to other carriers too. They all offer 30 day free trial. If for any reason you don’t like the phone, you can simply return it without paying the early termination fee. I don’t see any advantage of buying the Palm Pre Plus with no contract. It’s true that you would need to stay with the same carrier for 2 years (unless you opt for paying the ETF), what good is a smartphone without being a fast 3G network. 30 days is good enough to find out if the network is perfect for you.

Palm Pre vs. Samsung Moment, which phone you would buy? Great smartphones at great prices (online ONLY). Although I like the bigger keyboard on the Moment after a bit of hands on comparison, I still prefer the Pre because it runs smoother, especially the web browser (zoom in and out). In addition, the Pre weighs only 4.8 oz compared to 6.2 oz from Moment. Palm Pre or Samsung Moment? I will choose the Pre.

Whether you are looking to switch carriers or upgrade to a new phone, you can count on us to find you the best Palm Pre deals. Right now, you can find the Palm Pre on Sprint for $249.99 before $100 mail-in rebate. And Palm Pre Plus also costs $249.99 before rebates. So, are they really good deals? If you don’t want to submit numerous forms and wait months for rebates. If you ever misplace the receipt, forget it, you won’t be qualified for the rebate. And many people forget to submit the forms in time and they miss the deadline. Too much hassle. You can easily find some great deals online that offer them at steep discount (same exact new phones with warranty). Of course, there are no rebates needed on the best Palm Pre deals. That really saves you a lot of money and time. 2-day shipping is free too. Here is Palm Pre Plus for Verizon Wireless and Palm Pre for Sprint – both on sale for $99 only. Which carrier to choose? It’s really up to you :)

Many of us have been expecting to see a 4G Palm Pre from Sprint this year as WiMax is becoming available in some metro areas in the United States. Is the current Palm Pre 4G ready? Is it capable of running on WiMax. Can a simple software upgrade make the Pre run the new 4G network? Sorr, the answer is No. The early words that I heard when Sprint first launched the Pre – “A new 4G ready Palm Pre would be available in 2010.” Yeah, 2010 is a wide range considered we have 12 months to go through. And I hoping they don’t just release it in December this year just to meet their promise. Of course, Palm might want to play by what kind of iPhone Apple will bring later this year (June I am assuming). Since AT&T doesn’t have the 4G ready, Palm can use the 4G Palm Pre to do some catch up.

Is Palm Pixi touch screen? I got this question occasionally. The answer is yes. Palm Pixi and Palm Pixi Plus are touch screen phones. In fact, all Palm smart phones, including Treo and Centro all have touch screens. Well, the screen on Palm Pixi is small, and no wonder you would ask such question. And because of the screen size – it is the smallest touchscreen smartphone in the market today. It weighs only 3.3 oz and fits into any small pocket.

So how is Palm Pre Plus battery life holding up? The official specs state that Palm Pre Plus can let you talk straight for 5 hours and standby for 12.5 days (300 hours). Not too bad for a smartphone that let you run multiple applications at the same time. But in reality you talk and then surf the web or run some games – you don’t get 5 hours of battery life. We haven’t try to use the Mobile HOTSPOT – I believe that’s going to drain out Pre Plus’ battery life even faster. Like any other smartphone, the battery life on paper is less than accurate compared to actual use. Palm Pre is a multitasking beast. Recharge the battery regularly or carry a second battery. That would be my solution.

Palm Pixi vs. HTC Hero – check out the specs below if you need to compare Palm Pixi and HTC Hero. The Pixi is smaller device with a physical keyboard. Its slim and light form factor allows you to slip it into any pocket. On the other hand, the HTC Hero has a larger screen for better email and web experience. If you want bigger touch screens, go with the Sprint Hero.

pre landscape email 0 Secret code unlocks the landscape email on the Palm Pre

The Pre is an amazing phone and we keep discovering stuff about it. One of them is the Landscape email mode which is currently hidden from the eyes of average Pre users. But some of those users are smart enough to discover the unlock key.In case you too want to access your email in landscape mode then you have to enter “RocknRollHax” on the keyboard. You’ll have to enter the unlock code exactly as written here every time you access the email application but at least you’ll have that landscape mode activated every time. You’ll have to keep using the phone at least until Palm will make this feature official.

Analyst Edward Snyder from Research firm Charter Equity Research said in a report Monday that he believes Palm has sold 300,000 Palm Pre smartphones, based on conversations with sources in the handset manufacturing industry. He predicts that Palm is producing 15,000 Pres per day and that it will ship one million devices in the first quarter of production. He also expects Palm to begin expanding webOS to other devices.

While other industry analysts have pegged the number of sold Pre handsets at about 150,000, Snyder has doubled that figure.
