During the weekend, several blogs in the mobile sector there have dusted off little touches that have escaped in the flurry of new products introduced during the MWC 2011 in Barcelona. One of these appears to have gone unnoticed by the submission of a new user interface for Symbian shown on a Nokia N8.

It is possible that the new UI with home screen arrivals terminals Symbian ^ 3. Space showing the battery status, signal, time and operator has been reduced to a small bar, the space devoted to widgets has increased and there are three buttons, one of which seems to be a call and options.

Money has been invested to create completely new Symbian terminals, improvements in hardware performance, Qt development, simplified installation and increased user control. Perhaps we were too taken by the Nokia-Microsoft story to notice these details, which should reassure those who fear for the future of Symbian

New beta release for Firefox Mobile. As already communicated us by Jay Sullivan, project leader of the transposition of the popular mobile internet browser in the course of the interview that gave us at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, has chosen to stay on the safe side, releasing yet another version to testers in order to clean it as much as possible last-minute bugs and problems.

So, continues the Firefox to the mobile world and, although still not recommended as the default browser, and the intent to improve the work done for this purpose are clear. Motorola has invested in the content industries through the acquisition of cloud Catch Media. This is a move designed to improve and increase the cloud via services offered by Motorola, according to a growing tendency.

Catch Media is a company that deals with technologies that allow manufacturers / operators to offer phone access to their digital content from any terminal in a legal and safe. In short, offers access to music, and video files of any type from any terminal through B2B platform, an ecosystem for sharing authorized. If we add this to the acquisition of Zector (ZumoDrive with the services), we sense an attempt by Motorola to position itself so strong in a growing industry, offering even more MotoBlur improntanti the cloud and the online backup.

Motorola continues to invest and probably will turn on Android with Windows Phone 7, but with the addition of custom functionality related to the brand. We’ll see what the future holds.
