HTC’s smart phones are a pretty hot commodity. In fact, these devices are so hot that HTC was completely surprised by the fact that their devices we running low on stocks. In order to provide the products that the market needs, HTC has acquired new production facilities that would allow them to make more devices as needed. According to the executive director of HTC UK and Ireland, the Taiwan based manufacturer is catching up with the demands for new HTC smart phones.

The device that has most recently been low on availability is the HTC Desire. While the product is not completely absent from the shelves, it has been reported that HTC still needs to make more of the impressive Android device.

The Desire comes with a 3.7 inch AMOLED capacitive touch screen display which provides users with 480 x 800 pixels of resolution. It shows images and videos clearly, a great choice for users who are picky about the visual quality of the handset. It also has a 5 mega pixel camera that can take great quality images and videos. Running it all would Qualcomm’s Snapdragon CPU at 1GHz, this processor provides enough speed and power to handle even the most resource intensive of applications without much problems.

In other HTC news, the Taiwan based company is keeping quiet in regards to the Apple emergency conference held a couple of weeks ago. A spokesperson for HTC did defend the antenna technology used by the company. With HTC’s impressive track record with all of their devices –and the fact that no HTC handset requires a casing to be used properly, it is pretty safe to say that whatever accusations that Apple had are most definitely unfounded.

HTC is also currently preparing new handsets for the upcoming Windows Phone 7 operating system, it has been rumored earlier that the Mondrian and the Mozart will be among the first HTC made WP7 smart phones.

Here we have another run through of a developer build of Windows Phone 7, running on a LG device with a 4 row slide-out keyboard.

Of note is that the quality of experience on each Windows Phone 7 device will be more or less the same, which should remove any reticence of users to try out another manufacturer besides the old Windows Mobile staple, HTC, for example.

Read more about the developer and his experience at his site here.

Windows Phone 7 has taken the approach on making everything simple and functional at the same time, and this has gone to the Calendar application.

…you can’t be both simple and full-featured. Microsoft has opted with Windows Phone, in v1 form anyway, for simple. This is arguably the right choice, but the limitations of this choice will appear in multiple places all over this system. And this is just one basic example.

You can still sync the usual Windows Live, Outlook, and Google calendar but now they will have an assigned color to their content.

This is still just V1 of the software, and so I am sure they can put a little more features on to this software by next summer.

Having and playing billiard on your phone has not been as fun since we received more advanced games, but at least you have the options. With the Windows Phone developer tools available for people to try, we have seen many things in video demos and this new game is a simple but cool game for the road.

The game in the video is just the simple 9 ball game, but ill let you figure it out.

Pocketnow just recently made a list of gestures that will find their way on our next device, and some of them seem very cool. The list spans from the basic double tap, and pan to the slightly cooler flick and more. The gestures are not as cool as the ounces you can currently do with the HTC HD2 and LMT launcher, but it still does just about everything the others are doing.

Here is the list they composed:

The single touch gestures include:
1. the Tap which we already know by now with Finger up executing the action. A tap also stops any type of content from moving on the screen;
2. the Double Tap which toggles between in and out zoom states of a control or an application;
3. the Pan which is used to either move content on the screen or reorder a specific item;
4. the Flick that moves content from one area to another area. The difference between Flick and Pan is that the Flick ends with lifting the finger off the screen.
5. the Touch and Hold, which we are used to calling long tap and is used to display a context menu or options page for an item.

Are these gestures enough for you or do you have better ones in mind like maybe a multi-touch based application launcher.

Having Android on a Windows Phone is as easy as you breaking an iPhone on a simple drop,  but this is a little harder and this video shows you how it all looks at the end. This video posted by the guys at Pocketnow gives you a full demo of the OS running on our well loved HD2. While the build is not as stable as you would like it, you most admit that progress happened pretty fast, and the outcome is not bad.

Try this out of your device
