Engadget reported today that the Huawei IDEOS X3 and the S7 Slim broke cover before MWC this week on the company’s Flickr page. The X3 is said to be a budget handset aimed for mid to low range in pricing in the Android Smartphone market. As for the Slim, there was not much to note other than we can see that it has a front facing camera to it. Check out the Slim image after the break

PrivacyStar, an Android app and service that allows subscribers to report and block telemarketers and debt collectors who violate consumer protection laws, hit a record milestone this week for reports filed with the FTC. Users of the service made their 100,000th report to the Federal Trade Commission, helping the FTC to crack down on the almost 20% of said callers who could care less about the “no-call list” or federal protection laws for consumers.

Teleca, maker of software solutions for the automotive and mobile industries is announcing today that they have created an Android platform for SiriusXM. This will allow manufacturers to embed SiriusXM on top of an Android build into say, vehicles, boomboxes and other things. (This is all assuming that people are going to want to still pay for satellite radio service).

The above video shows the newly announced Kyocera Echo Android powered smartphone from Sprint. It is an interesting concept, a phone that can turn into a “tablet like device” and back. There are a lot of unanswered questions about the Echo, such as battery life for a dual screen device, which are sure to be answered as we get closer to release this Spring.
